Virginia Lee Jenkins, age 76, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died Thursday, September 7th, 2017, at home. She was born August 23, 1941 in Chicago, IL.

She grew up in Oak Park, IL and graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School in 1959. She attended Knox College where she received her bachelors and then attended Northwestern University where she received a Masters. She was a high school math teacher in New York state. She moved back to Chicago in the mid 1960's where she worked as a computer programmer at Quaker Oats. She continued there until her sons were born and she retired to be a homemaker and raise them. In the 1990's she received an LTA certificate from College of DuPage and worked in a couple of local libraries. She also started and ran her own library software business.

She loved God, her family, music and books. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church Of Glen Ellyn; taking care of the library, singing in the choir and participating in many other activities.

She is survived by her two sons, Stephen and Allan Jenkins of Glen Ellyn, IL; A niece Rebecca Summers of Lilburn, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband William F. Jenkins; Her parents Rubin and Gladys Anderson; Her brother Wesley Anderson.

A visitation will held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Of Glen Ellyn, 550 N. Main Street, in Glen Ellyn, IL on Sept 21, 2017 at 11:00 am.
