Virginia M. Jackson, 91 years old, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at her apartment in Wyndemere Senior Living Community. She was born June 9, 1924 in Chicago, IL.
Virginia raised her children while pursuing further education in Library Sciences. She worked in school libraries and offices, and co-owned an office support services business in Wheaton.
She retired with her beloved husband to Arizona for a short period before returning to Wheaton. Virginia and her husband of 53 years were founding members of St. Matthew United Church of Christ, Wheaton, IL. She participated in the vocal and bell choirs at church for many years. She was an avid reader and artist. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and hosting parties for friends and family. She kept active with her bridge and quilting groups and enjoyed visiting with her many friends. She touched many with her joy for life, deep faith, and motherly love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson; her son, Scott Jackson; her parents, Harry and Hazel Sorg; and by her sister, Ruth Plinske.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann (Philip) Ogorzalek and Sara (John Scott) Jackson; and grandchildren, Megan Ogorzalek, James Ogorzalek, Ashley Jackson, Lyndsay Jackson, and Hayley Jackson. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Rose Anne Jackson; and by her brother-in-law, David (Peggy) Jackson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at
St. Matthew United Church of Christ
