Virginia K. Edstrom, age 90, a resident of Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, and formerly of Park Ridge, IL, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Lutheran Home. She was born February 14, 1918 in Chicago, IL.
Virginia was a member of South Park Church in Park Ridge for many years. She volunteered with Pioneer Girls, and participated in a Vacation Bible School program with South Park Church. She was a creative person and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and interior decorating. She received a scholarship from the Chicago Art Institute.
She is survived by her three children, Keith (Carol) Edstrom of Belvidere, IL, Robin Pardue of Maple Grove, MN, and Bruce (Denise) Edstrom of Palm Harbor, FL; five grandchildren, Kristin (Brad Von Bank) Pardue, Kendra (Robert) Atkinson, Kenneth (Jennifer) Pardue, Robert Edstrom, and Bruce Edstrom II; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Emma, and Emmit Atkinson, Connor Madsen, and Tyler Von Bank; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert; her parents, Charles and Jane Greer; and her sister, Helen.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, from 4:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. at the Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas, in Arlington Heights, where a service will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
