Virginia "Ginnie" E. Adair, age 94, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Johnson Health Care Center in Carol Stream, Illinois. She was born May 31, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to Isaiah and Rachel George, the 14th of 15 children.
She grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a teaching degree. She met Jim Adair at a Bible conference. They were married in 1959 and moved to Wheaton, IL. She taught first grade at Washington School in Wheaton until her daughters were born. Later she worked as a substitute teacher until she was in her 70's.
She was an active member of Wheaton Bible Church where she was a Sunday School Superintendent for nearly 50 years. She and Jim were known for their hospitality, entertaining missionaries, friends and Christian leaders from Jim's work at Scripture Press. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, cooking and playing with her grand-dogs.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Adair and Martha Adair, her granddaughter, Lily Adair, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and all of her siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
