Veronica A. Pankratz, (Ronnie), age 102, a resident of Wheaton IL, formerly of Northbrook IL, died December 30, 2022, at Wynscape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton, IL.  She was born October 6, 1920, in Chicago to Frank and Agnes (nee Zarecki) Truty, the eighth of nine children.

She proudly served in the Women's Army Corps during WWII then worked for General Electric for many years. Later in life, she married Frank Pankratz and embraced his family as her own. She was an active parishioner of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Northbrook, bowled every Thursday for years, enjoyed cooking and entertaining and played wicked games of pinochle with her family.  She was a devoted aunt, sister, wife, stepmother and grandmother to many.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Louis Truty of Aubrey, TX,  five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A mass will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10:00a at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton. A livestream is available here .   Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.
