Verna Strakonsky's Obituary
Verna Strakonsky, age 88, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at home. She was born November 2, 1926 in Sioux City, IA.
She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 76, and the 8 & 40 Club, also known as La Socie'te' des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux. She was also once active in the PTA and as a Crossing Guard and volunteer worker at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton, IL.
She is survived by her son, Joseph (girlfriend, Carole Wyman) Strakonsky of Wheaton, IL; two grandchildren, Tamara Lynn (Jon) Peterson of Skokie, IL, and Kent Joseph (Margarita Garza) Strakonsky of Little Elm, TX; and her great-grandson, Aidan Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Strakonsky.
Services and interment are private at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the charity of your choice.
