Obituary
Velma C. Mason, age 93, a resident of the Wheaton area, died Friday, October 8 at the Tabor Hills Health Care Center. She was born on May 11, 1911 in Rolfe, Iowa to Julius and Jennie Hansen.
For many years she worked as a manager for Carson Pirie Scott & Company department stores.
She is survived by three children, Joye (John) Chenelle, Shirley (J. Bruce) Meriwether, and Larry (Nancy) Mason, ten grandchildren, Steven and Scott Mason, Phyllis Taylor, Tim, Randy and Vicki Willey, Michael Meriwether, Kim David, John Meriwether and David Mason, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lester, and one son Gerald.
Visitation will be hel on Monday, October 11, from 10 until the time of a funeral service at 12:00 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Tabor Hills Health Care Center, 1347 Crystal Ave., Naperville, IL 60563.
