Valerie Wegner, a resident of Wheaton, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. She was born September 6th, 1933 in Oak Park, Illinois.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard, Illinois and active with the seniors group at the Wheaton Park District. She loved traveling, playing cards, spending time with and hearing from her children and grandchildren, and watching the Cubs win... or lose.

She is survived by her children, Phillip (Kathryn) Helding, Alan (Marcia) Helding, and Edward Edwardson; grandchildren, George and Zoe Helding; Brandon, Wesley, Ryan, Joshua Helding, and Calley Artenian; Ashley, Alyssa and Eric Edwardson; and two great-grandchildren, Charles and Eleanor.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Wegner; brother, Donald Wegner; and son, Jeffery Helding.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of a funeral service to be held at 12:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church , 21W500 Butterfield Road, Lombard, IL 60148. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
