Valentina
Stasyuk
July 8, 1957 – June 25, 2018
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearest, Valentina Stasyuk. On June 25th, 2018, Valentina left her family and friends to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, only 2 weeks short of her 61st Birthday.
Valentina was born to a Christian family on July 8th, 1957, in a Village of Glinki, Rovno Region of Ukraine, sharing her birthday with her twin brother, Peter. She was one of 5 siblings born to the family of Peter and Evgeniya Kachanovsky. At the age of 17, Valentina was baptized and became member of a local church. Sharing her love for Christ with many people that she met throughout her life brought her a great joy. She was persecuted for her faith during her school years, but still was able to finish technical school. She also completed courses to become a choir director. Singing was Valentina's passion, and for that reason she sang in a choir most of her life, as her way of serving her Lord.
On October 23rd, 1977, as a beautiful 20-year-old young lady, full of life, love and joy, Valentina joined hands in marriage with Peter Stasyuk. It was a grand and a happy Fall celebration in Lubomirka Village, near Rovno, Ukraine. A year later, the young couple celebrated the wonderful arrival of their first born daughter, Galina. Three years later, their family grew again with the happy addition of twins, Natasha and Alexander. In 1982, Valentina's family moved to Tallinn, Estonia, and soon to follow was the joyous arrival of their 4th child, Irina. Valentina and Peter became members of a local church in Tallinn, where she served the congregation as a choir member.
In February of 1994, Valentina and her family immigrated to US, and more specifically to Chicagoland area in Illinois; to re-unite with her Father, two sisters, her twin brother and their families. Valentina really enjoyed being close with her family and having a big and giving heart, year after year, her home was the "gathering place" for the entire family and the community she was involved with. Valentina loved to cook and it brought her joy to serve others. She enjoyed being a host to many people in her home and she was great at it. Valentina stood out for her gracious hospitality and open heart that welcomed everyone throughout the years of her life.
Valentina loved and cherished her husband, children and grandchildren. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Aleksandr, Anthony, Zachary, Toby, Grace, Emmanuella, and one more baby on the way.
Last year, Valentina and Peter have celebrated their 40th Anniversary. The loving marriage that they shared was admired by so many in the community. They were best friends who passionately loved, respected and supported each other.
