Hesterberg
January 4, 1933 – October 12, 2022
Valare A. Hesterberg, age 89, a resident of Windsor Covenant Community Living, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 with her daughters, Lori, Beth and Amy by her side. Val was born on January 4, 1933 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her loving husband-Paul E. Hesterberg; father-J. Fred Logemann; mother- Arlynn Logemann and her beloved brother- Dr. Ronald Logemann. What a joyful heavenly reunion it must have been.
Val grew up in Blue Earth in close proximity to her 22 first cousins. Family reunions were frequent and fun!! She attended the local one-room school until her high school years at Blue Earth High. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College for one year, then transferred to North Central College in Naperville, IL, where she received her teaching degree. A teaching position took her to Dixon, IL and it is here she met Paul, who was working for the Illinois Central Railroad. They married on August 2,1958 and moved to Valparaiso, IN, where their first daughter, Lori Lynn joined the family.
Following a move to Rockford, IL, both Beth Audrey and Amy Paula were born and completed their family. Val taught Title One Reading in the Public Schools for many years while raising their girls. Family vacations, church fellowship and mission trips were all passions of Val's. A competitive game of Canasta or Croquet were also favorite past times. Val's feisty and competitive spirit were evident throughout her final years. She was a favorite in the Memory Care unit where she spent her last 2 years. She loved playing balloon badminton or bingo and still relished the community of others and the loving care that was provided to her there.
Val is survived by her daughters; Lori Hovenesian of Tulsa, OK. Beth (Ben) Fulton and Amy (Jay) Orellana, both in Wheaton; 11 grandchildren: Carol (Isaiah) Wilson, Janet (Nic) Halsmer, Jacob (Jenna) Fulton, Anna (Tyler) Sahly, Aubrey (Spencer) Morris, Luke Fulton, Trevor (AlexaKay) Adams, Josh (AlexaLynn) Adams, Kyle Orellana, Kory (DeeDee) Orellana, Jenna (Brady) Roberts; 13 great-grandchildren: Emma, Jocelyn, Josiah and Elias Wilson; Sydney, Zeke and Taya Halsmer; Isaac Fulton; Rowan, Asher, Grayson and Emery Sahly; Melby Morris.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Hultgren's Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, Wheaton, IL 60187. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
