Tyson
Kelser
June 18, 2003 – June 27, 2019
Tyson Kelser, age 16, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2019. He was born June 18, 2003 in Madison, Wisconsin, and although he moved to Wheaton at only 5 months of age, his birthplace resulted in him being a Green Bay Packers fan. Tyson was a highly gifted student and a deep and thoughtful thinker. His faith in Jesus Christ was evident in his interactions with many, both in and outside of church. Prior to his passing he had been excitedly looking forward to joining others from his church youth group on a missions trip to Greece later this summer. Tyson enjoyed all things water related. He loved swimming with his team, Wheaton Swim Club, and participating in the swim meets, especially long distant events; most recently finishing a 3K open water swim. He was working as a lifeguard at Rice pool, and looked forward to boating and hanging out at the lake. Tyson loved dogs and helping care for them. He enjoyed assisting his stepmom, Vicki, in transporting rescue dogs. Tyson enjoyed being around family and friends. He loved to read, play video games, watch Marvel movies, and was a huge Star Wars fan.
He is survived by his mother, Brynda Streff; his father, Phil Kelser; his stepfather Russ Streff; his stepmother, Vicki Hayes Kelser; his younger brother Michael Streff; maternal grandparents Bill and Sue Bedrossian; paternal grandmother Sharon Kelser; and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Community Fellowship Church, 28W240 North Ave, West Chicago, IL 60185, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
