Tom Klobucher, age 83, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. He was born July 27, 1941 in LaSalle, IL to John & Rose Klobucher.
Tom grew up in LaSalle, Illinois, where he spent his early years riding bikes through town and reading comic books with friends. He played on the basketball team at LaSalle High School & Proviso East High School in Maywood. He attended Northwestern University & Elmhurst College. Tom met his future wife, Carol Sarsfield, at a college Christmas gathering at a church in Bellwood, Illinois. Tom & Carol were married in August of 1965. In 1977, Tom founded Thomas Interior Systems, a furniture company specializing in consulting, design & procurement for office spaces. Tom gained valuable experience as a successful entrepreneur that helped grow his leadership skills within the company and as an accomplished author. Tom published numerous books about business and life lessons. Tom retired from Thomas Interiors and his son, Paul, and his wife Valerie continue to operate the business today. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on vintage cars, and playing the harmonica. Most importantly, Tom loved to share his faith in Jesus Christ with others.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years Carol; his children Lisa (Mark) Kortenhoeven & Paul (Valerie) Klobucher; his grandchildren: Kate (Lucas) Konopinski, Jenna Kortenhoeven & Seth Kortenhoeven; and Caden Klobucher, Ash Klobucher, Madeleine Lawson and Luke Lawson. Also survived by his sister Barbara Hughes sisters-in-law Judy & Donna Klobucher.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Rose (the late Eugene) Kammerling, Ray & Ed Klobucher; his brother-in-law Jerry Hughes; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at College Church in Wheaton, 332 E. Seminary Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187, on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
