Thomas E. Wurster  April 22, 1935 - December 27, 2017 Cassopolis, MI - Thomas (Tom) E. Wurster 82, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2017. Born April 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Herbert C. and Dorothea A. (Duncan) Wurster, Sr. and the loving husband of the late Janet (Miller) Wurster. His sister Carol A. (Wurster) Tellman and his brother Herbert C. Wurster, Jr. also preceded him in death. Tom is survived by his four children, Susan (Jim) Hansen of St. Petersburg, FL, Thomas E. Wurster, Jr. of Chicago, Curtis M. (Sheri) Wurster of Oswego, IL, and David T. Wurster of Chicago; 8 grandchildren; one brother, Robert D. (Carol) Wurster of Clarendon Hills, IL.

Tom was born in Mishawaka, IN, graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1953 and then went on to earn a degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 1957. Tom went into the business of farming both livestock and crops for over 25 years and also worked as a top sales agent with Mutual of New York (MONY) for over 30 years. Tom was involved with a number of organizations during his lifetime, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) while at Purdue and as an alumni member post graduation, a lifetime member of the Purdue Alumni Association and a lifetime member of the Diamond Lake Yacht Club from 1958-2017 where he served in various leadership positions including Commodore, Fleet Captain, and Board Member, all of which supported his love for sailing and anything related to Diamond Lake.

Per his request, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in the summer of 2018.
