Thomas J. Surges, age 75, a resident of Carol Stream, and formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, April 12, at home. He was born September 30, 1931 in Chicago.
Tom was proud to have served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army during the Korean War. He also worked for over 35 years at Spring Division Borg-Warner Corp. in Bellwood, IL. Every month he loved to meet for lunch with other retirees from Borg-Warner. He also enjoyed working with wood and often made things for his family.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Mickey Kielas of Carol Stream; three daughters, Carol Morris of Alpharetta, GA, Kathy Surges of Richardson, TX, and Janice (Roger) McKeown of Carol Stream; and seven grandchildren, Ashley and Kimberly Morris, and Stephanie, Alison, Justin, Matthew, and Joseph McKeown.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Sue Surges.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, at 11:00 A.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
