Thomas J. Parker, age 66, a resident of Milledgeville and formerly a 33 year resident of Glendale Heights, died suddenly, Thursday, August 10, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.
He was born on December 6, 1939 in Chicago. He grew up in Tucson, AZ. He joined the US Air Force when he was 18 and served for seven years. In 1962 he married Patricia Stephan in Chicago. He worked as a Civil Engineer for DeLew Cather and CTE Engineers for a total of 45 years.
Tom was chairman of the Glendale Heights Planning Commission, an officer of the Railroad and Bridge Commission, a member of the American Legion for many years, and was a Eucharistic Minister for St. Luke Church in Carol Stream and St. Mary's Church in Polo, Illinois.
Mr. Parker is survived his wife, Patricia Parker of Milledgeville, two children, Thomas W. Parker of Batavia and Lynne (Scott) M. Richer of Plainfield, three grandchildren, Jonathon Parker, Alexxe Richer, and Cody Richer, one sister, Kathleen Jurasz of Chicago and one aunt Ann Starnes of Naperville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. and Dorothy I. Parker in 2003.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. St. Luke Catholic Church in Carol Stream, prayers will be held at the funeral home at 9:00 am. Further services will be held at McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville, IL. They can be reached at 815-225-7154.
