It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Thomas Francis Mitchell III, 76 years young. Thomas (Tommy) was a resident of the DuPage Care Center in Wheaton, IL. He passed away on February 14, 2024. He was referred to as Tommy by his family due to his gentle soul, good nature and kindness.

Tommy was born January 23, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Virginia and Thomas F. Mitchell, Jr. Tommy was a twin and one of three sets of twins in the Mitchell family. His twin sister is Patricia Jacobs. After graduation from high school, Tommy served in the Navy from 1967 to 1973 and received the National Defense Medal. He worked for the IRS in the Data Services Department for 40 years where he received a Superior Performance award. he was also an active member of the local VFW and avid collector of collectibles.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Francis Mitchell Jr.; and mother Virginia D. Mitchell; and nephew Emerson Kastenholz. His memory will be honored and kept alive by his sisters, Patricia Jacobs and Kathleen Kastenholz; brothers Michael, Terrence and William Mitchell; brothers and sisters in law Mike Kastenholz, Neil Jacobs, Venise Mitchell, Lois Mitchell; nephews Justin Jacobs, Nate Kastenholz, Brandon Mitchell, Shane Mitchell, Zach Mitchell; nieces Amy Westlake, Ashley Balboa, Shannon Mitchell, Sandy Cate and Cadie Cate.

A private ceremony will be held on March 15, 2024 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tunnels to Towers . God Bless.
