Thomas W. Luther, age 96, a resident of St. Charles, IL and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, died Saturday, October 31, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL. He was born August 6, 1913 in Cicero, IL.
Tom worked for many years as a plumber in the area. He was recognized as the oldest and also the longest member of the Local #501. He was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton.
He is survived by his daughter, Ellen (Edward) Getz of Huntington Beach, CA; and his son, Kenneth (Marcia) Luther of Anthem, AZ; seven grandchildren, Scott, Wendi, Bryan, Aaron, Craig, Heather and Brad; five great-grandchildren, Colin, Jhet, Evan, Alanna and Hayden; and his son-in-law, Jerry VanHoose.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years; Myrtle; his daughter, Lori VanHoose.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, from 4-7 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 101 S. 6th Ave., in St. Charles, IL. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Charles, IL.
