Obituary

Thomas Sullivan, age 75, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born October 25, 1950 in Teaneck, New Jersey to Richard P. & Margaret A. Sullivan.

Tom will be remembered most for the life he built with and for his family. He was the cornerstone of his family—a planner, a provider, and a constant source of strength. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Every decision he made was rooted in a desire to ensure those around him were cared for and supported. His devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren was unwavering, and nothing brought him more pride than watching his family grow and thrive.

For more than 20 years, Tom built a distinguished career in finance, earning the respect through his integrity and steady leadership at Corn Products International.

He found his greatest joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. He loved the beach, especially the thrill of body surfing, spending summers with family at Avon and Chadwick Beach, where laughter, storytelling, and togetherness were shared. An avid golfer, Tom found peace and camaraderie on the course, often combining his love for the game with time spent among friends. His retirement with Meg included many memories at the beach in South Carolina, where he was happiest just listening to the waves crashing onto the shore.

He held a special place in his heart for his extended family, many nieces and nephews, maintaining close bonds and sharing in their lives. He thrived on connection and treasured the lifelong friendships he built over the years, enjoying time with friends and neighbors across the many places he called home, including New Jersey, Illinois, Canada, and South Carolina.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and strength. He showed those around him what it means to live with purpose, to care deeply, and to always put family first.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Meg; his children Kerri (Jeff) Reuter & TJ (Megan) Sullivan; his grandchildren: Brielle (14), Grant (12), Emma (9), & Claira (6) Reuter and Finn (9) & Avery (5) Sullivan; his siblings Rick (Ellie) Sullivan, Patty (Dick) Parsells, Joan (Jim) Piedmont & Patrick (Stephanie) Sullivan; his sister & brothers-in-law: Georgie (Larry) Planow, John (Joan) Diemer & Jim (Julie) Diemer. Also survived by many cousins, nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Relatives & friends are invited to meet directly at St. Michael Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187, on Monday, April 13, 2026 for the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by donating to American Heart Association, 300 S Riverside Plaza, Chicago, IL 60606 or Alzheimer’s Association, 2200 Cabot Dr Suite 460, Lisle, IL 60532 or most importantly, spending time with loved ones, cheering on a child at a game, or simply enjoying a day by the ocean—just as he would have wanted.
