Thomas Dudley Hobson was born in Harvey, Illinois October 19, 1924 and died peacefully with family at his bedside on October 6, 2022 at Anthology of Wheaton.
Tom served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and afterwards graduated from the University of Washington in St Louis, Missouri. He worked as a Structural Engineer for a variety of firms in the Chicagoland area and overseas.
He is survived by son David Hobson (Wheaton, IL) and daughter Carol Hobson Moore (Albuquerque, NM) and grandchildren Amy Hobson, Richard Moore, Dana Hobson, Betty Moore, Margaret Hobson, Caterina Hobson, Nate Hobson, Leanne Hobson and James Hobson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Marion and two brothers, Richard and John, and his wives Betty Kuykendall Hobson (d. 1967) and Regina Sereika Hobson (d. 2021) as well as two sons Thomas D Hobson III (d.2012) and Philip K Hobson (d.2021)
Tom (Pops) will be remembered as a kind and loving man who loved family, naps, architecture, eating ice cream, pie, cupcakes, (okay, anything sweet), who loved to tell stories, and could easily engage with everyone he met.
