Terrence P.
Kane
May 3, 1966 – March 20, 2021
Terrence P. Kane, age 54, a resident of Glen Ellyn, passed away March 20, 2021, at home. He was born May 3, 1966 in Chicago to Trudy Mau & Vernon Kane.
He is survived by his son Sean, mother Trudy(Jay), father Vernon(Eileen), sister Tina(Jeff) nephews Colton and Reese.
Terry's lifelong passions were rooted in his happy childhood with his loving family and many friends. His deep faith started with attending St. Philips Lutheran family School & Church. He joined Boy Scouts there & with his Dad & Mom as leaders and made many friends.
With his Mom Trudy and the Neumahr's he was treasured and respected. They fostered in Terry a love of fine food, family traditions, German home cooking, hiking, skiing, traveling and the outdoors. Christmas was especially wonderful with the Neumahr's at his beautifully decorated Oma's house.
With his Dad Vernon and the Kanes, who fostered his love of chess and cards, games, visiting the family cabin, wonderful reunions, holidays, fixing cars, houses and just about anything, and a positive can-do attitude.
The Mingl family and their farm were special as Terry spent many fun days & summers there, with the Mingl boys and their many guests, he participated in the family projects, bailing hay, construction and fixing things and enjoyed many adventures, motor sports, BB guns and parties.
Terry moved with his Mom & Sister Tina to Morris IL in 1977, he attended high school at MCHS making lifelong friends with common interests like computers and D&D. He became interested in golf, engineering, and developed a passion for learning that continued through his life.
Terry started working for GMT in maintenance and worked there 19 years climbing the ladder to R&D.
When he met his first wife Maria and her 2-year-old Amanda daughter, he fell in love. They got married, bought a beautiful home, and moved to the suburbs. The greatest joy for Terry was fatherhood, Sean was born in 1994 forever changing Terry's life for the better.
After his divorce, a single father Terry focused on his career, Scouts with Sean, and parenting in general.
Terry was introduced to Terri, his second wife, by his Dad, Vernon and together with her daughters, Sarah, Allie and Sean they blended their family. Terry & Terri were deeply involved in their church and faith, they shared a love of cooking, travel and family. He started working at Crane Ind. in R&D where he loved his co-workers and boss.
Terry will be remembered as our jack-of-all-trades, he was always game for any project and helped most of us with ours. Terry loved making things, he was always thinking of new things to make in new ways.
In his last year, Terry faced cancer with his son Sean, by his side and the grace of his faith. Along with his Mom and sister caring for him and many of you visiting Terry, he was never alone in his final months.
We will remember Terry fondly for his love of friends, family and community. He will be forever missed.
