Terrance L. "Terry" Vavrek, age 71, a resident of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away April 8, 2021. He was born January 17, 1950 in Berwyn, IL to Andrew & Margaret Vavrek.

Terry graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. He started his accounting career as an auditor with Litton Industries, and then later with Fiatallis. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynette Simak in 1974, and they were married for 46 years. They had one daughter, Julie, who was born in 1978. Together they lived in Glendale Heights for 42 years. Terry enjoyed many sports including baseball, hockey, bowling and golf. He played baseball for Morton College for one season. He had one 300 game in bowling, and loved golf, in which he had two holes-in-one. Golf was a big part of Terry's life. Everyone enjoyed his instruction and company on the course. Because of his love for golf, Terry worked at Glendale Lakes Golf Course as a ranger and later worked at Indian Lakes Golf Course where he golfed more than worked.

Terry was a devoted and loving husband. As a father he was an exceptional mentor to his daughter, teaching her many things throughout her life. He was known for his dancing at weddings, being a great golf partner, and his sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his daughter Julie (Cory) Fletcher; his sister-in-law Peg Vavrek; his nephews Mike (Ann) Vavrek & Jim (Chalet) Vavrek; his aunt Dolores Wolpoff; his brother-in-law Bob (Jeri) Simak; his nieces Jennifer (Keith) Gilmartin, Kimberly Simak; his lifelong friend, Peter Lorusso; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lynette Vavrek, his parents Andrew and Margaret, his brothers Jim and Michael Vavrek.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois 60187.
