Susanne Sellentin, 89, of Frankfort, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on July 6, 1937, in Einlage, Ukraine, to Cornelius Lepp and Susanne née Penner.

Susanne and her brother, Cornelius, grew up in the Ukraine and then in Germany before the family emigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1948. Susanne met her future husband, John Sellentin, and the two were married in June of 1956. In 1961 the new family moved to the Chicago area. In 1996 Susanne became a proud United States Citizen.

Faith was always an important part of Susanne’s life. As a member of Bethel Covenant Susanne participated in the choir and shared her talents as a soloist.

Susanne was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her beloved family knew how much she adored spending time with them. As a friend Susanne was also a staunch and loyal friend her love and compassion brought light and laughter to her community in Frankfort. In her free time Susanne liked to hone her skills in the kitchen. Her German inspired cakes, breads, and dishes brought joy and found memories to everyone.

Susanne leaves behind; her brother Conn Lepp; her adored children John (Cindy) Sellentin and Linda (Ned) Grabarek; her darling grandchildren Kelsey (Ben) Siranosian, Greg (Jenna) Grabarek, Tessa Sellentin, Christopher (Dana) Moser, and Elle (Daniel) Moser; her great grandchildren Flora Grabarek and Theo Moser; and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
