Susan Lynne (Wakefield) Kusak, 48, a resident of Wheaton, died on
Wednesday May 7 surrounded by her family. She was called home by our
Lord and Savior 6 weeks after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. She
was born on July 25, 1959 in Galesburg, IL to Gale S. and Linda K.
Wakefield. She was a 1977 graduate of Glenbard South High School in
Glen Ellyn, IL.
Susan did at home day-care for 14 years, impacting many families
through her love of children. Some of Susan's interests included walking,
Bunco with friends, strolling the farmer's market, ceramics, gardening, and
laughing with her kids. She was a stay-at-home mom who committed her
life to her children's well- being. A single parent, Susan was proud of and
gave everything she had to her triplet children Daniel, Bradley, and Megan.
In addition to her children, Susan is survived by her parents, her
brothers Jeffrey W. (Kathy) Wakefield of Fairmont, IL, and Steven B.
Wakefield of Cobden, IL as well as many loving family, friends, and
neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herald and Helen
Townsley, of Hoopeston, IL, and George Dewey and Laura Wakefield of
Odell, IL.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held at Harvest Bible Church,
located at 1805 High Point Dr. Naperville, IL, at 3pm on Sunday, June 8. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kusak Scholarship Fund at
Chase Bank.
