Susan Crabtree, age 60, a resident of Bloomington, and formerly of Wheaton, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 2, at St. Mary Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born March 14, 1948 in Long Island, NY.
Susan was an accountant with a number of private accounting firms in the Chicago area. She was a longtime active member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Wheaton. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Susan planned and led her family on many memorable camping trips. She loved to support her children's athletic activities which led the family across the country and throughout Europe.
The joy she brought to her family and friends will never be forgotten. Those who are dear to her have so many wonderful memories and will continue to keep them alive: her beautiful smile, her adventuresome spirit, and her appreciation and thankfulness for all she was given in life. She was a very caring and sharing person in every sense of these words.
"God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best."
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Jim; her two children, Bryan (Jenna) Crabtree and Janelle (Brady) Knight; five grandchildren, Alayna, Adriana, and Ava Crabtree, Brevin and Abby Knight; and her brother, Paul (Cathy) Burdick.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Matthew United Church of Christ, 1420 S. Gables, in Wheaton. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.
