Stuart O. Michael, age 73, a longtime resident of Wheaton, Illinois, died suddenly on Friday, November 16. Stu was born on July 5, 1945 in Binghamton, New York to Gerald Owen and Ruth Elaine Michael.
Stu grew up in Chenango Bridge, New York, where he graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 1963. He graduated from Nyack College in Nyack, NY in 1970. In 1973, Stu graduated from Bethel Theological Seminary, Arden Hills, Minnesota. At that time Stu and Karla moved to Wheaton where he accepted a teaching position at Wheaton Christian High School. He was later hired by Wheaton College as Director of Admissions and then as Director of Financial Aid and Marketing. After leaving the world of academia, He became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker, then later with Ken Spengle and Associates, and most recently with Berkshire Hathaway.
Stu is survived by his wife Karla, two sons, Jonathan Owen (Amy) Michael of Fort Collins, Colorado and Benjamin Thomas Michael of Vail, Colorado, two grandsons, Joshua Owen and Ethan Thomas , two brothers, Eric (Rita) Michael of Selinsgrove, PA, David (Sally) Michael of Carmel, Indiana and one sister, Deborah (David) Emigh of Haddonfield, New Jersey.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185.
