Steven "Woody" P. Wood

April 30, 1959 – May 7, 2021

Steve "Woody" Wood, age 62, a resident of West Chicago, IL passed away suddenly but peacefully from natural causes on May 7, 2021. He was born April 30, 1959 in Geneva IL. to Paul and Norina Wood, nee Larsen.

Steve grew up in Wheaton and was a talented heavy equipment operator with a special skill for running mobile cranes and adapting to difficult hoisting situations. He was a friend to many and lived life following his heart and not always his head. Woody loved motorcycles and a good ride with the wind in his beard and the rumble of pipes in his ears.

He is survived by his loving brother Russ and his wife Holly, an aunt, uncles as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Norine Wood. He leaves behind many valued and dear friends who will miss him and his nightly thoughts over a cold one.

A visitation will be held Friday May 14, 2021 from 3:00 until time of the memorial service at 6:00 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. Wheaton IL 60187. Guests are asked to maintain social distancing and wear a face covering. There will be a celebration of his life at the Bunker Bar & Grill, 216 Main St. in West Chicago following the service.
