IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steve E.
Schultz
April 5, 1945 – January 16, 2024
Steve E. Schultz, age 78, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born April 5, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Sheldon Schultz & Frances McComb.
Steve's life required him to move multiple times while growing up and through his adult life. Those moves included stops in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and finally in Illinois. In fact, Steve and Kathy were married for over 56 years and for the first 21 years they never lived in one city together longer than four years. But in 1988 they made their way to Wheaton, IL where they lived out the remainder of their time.
Over the years Steve enjoyed golfing with friends and family. He also loved family camping trips whether that be over a weekend or for a weeklong trip to northern Wisconsin. While camping he would spend some time fishing on Dan's boat or playing in the water with his grandchildren. Steve was also a very loyal and passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed talking about their season, their players and the hopes that each year would end with a Super Bowl championship.
Steve was an active member of St. Michael's Parish for over 30 years. He served as a Minister of Hospitality, Mass Coordinator and Eucharistic Minister. He also served on the Parish Council, presided as President of the Holy Name Society and was part of the counting team for many years.
Of all the things in his life, the one thing that brought him the most joy and happiness was his family. He was incredibly proud of the men and fathers that Dan and Mike became. He adored Kristina and Denise for their quirkiness and love and support they always showed others. He was very proud of his grandchildren who have all become amazing young men and women and knew they would all find success and happiness in life. Most of all, he loved and cherished his wife, Kathy. Over 56 years of devotion and marriage were evidence of the love they shared. Kathy was Steve's world and one true love!
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathy; his two sons Dan (Kristina) Schultz & Mike (Denise Hoover) Schultz; his seven grandchildren: Alexandra, Jacob, Joshua, Kaitlyn & Kylie Schultz and Madison & Caden Halleran.
He was preceded in death by his sister Christie Johnson and his parents.
