IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steve
Jarzabkowski
February 3, 1963 – February 17, 2024
On the evening of Saturday, February 17, 2024, Stephen "Steve" Gerard Jarzabkowski was ushered into the presence of the Almighty, triune God at the age of 61. Steve was born on February 3, 1963, in Chicago, IL. He was the fifth child of Henry and Colette (Stanley) Jarzabkowski.
Steve was a man in motion—a trait that characterized his life. He was always moving, always active, always willing to put forth the extra effort. As a father, he gloried in playing with his children on their level: running, jumping, and dancing right alongside the most energetic of them, or disturbing the decorum of a tea party with his characteristic silliness. The years that elapsed between children and grandchildren did nothing to slow him down. In fact, he approached his time with his grandchildren with such vigor that the parents had to coin the phrase, "That's a Grandpa thing" to avoid like exertions.
In 2016, Steve met the woman who would become his partner through many adventures. Together, they traveled the world, explored the states, and reveled in the beauty of God's creation. They were married in September of 2022, and, from hiking and kayaking to biking and dancing, they were always on the go and eager to share a full life with their friends, family, and each other. Under her loving influence, many of Steve's finer qualities were nurtured and refined.
Steve is survived by his wife, Karen; his son, Kevin (Shannon); his daughters, Jessica Keane (Ryan) and Paige; his stepchildren, Harry (Megan), Nicholas (Donna), and Amber (Andrew); his grandchildren, Walter, Winifred, Marigold, and Gilbert (Keane), with another grandchild due in July (Jarzabkowski); and five step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Henry, Joseph, Jennifer, Daniel, Leon, and John. Steve was a dearly loved and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be sorely missed.
A service will be held at 11:00 o'clock Friday morning, February 23, 2024, at St. Michael Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave, Wheaton, IL, followed by a gathering to honor his memory at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
