Stephen Ciaccio, age 87, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away on July 27, 2024, at his home on Kansas Street. He was born on August 8, 1936, in Chicago, IL, to Leonardo and Frances Ciaccio.

Stephen spent his childhood on Franklin St. in Chicago and graduated from St. Joseph Elementary School in 1951. He attended St. Phillips High School, where he formed many friendships.  Through the neighborhood he met and began dating his future wife, Catherine "Kitty" Krzysik. The couple married on September 19, 1959.

The Ciaccios moved to the Logan Square area, where they lovingly raised two daughters. Stephen dedicated 33 years of service to Precision Scientific and later worked for Crystal Productions. Even in retirement, he stayed active by working at Caputo's Grocery in Carol Stream.

Stephen enjoyed simple pleasures, such as a good cigar and relaxing at home. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his hard work and dedication, always making time for his loved ones.

He is survived by his daughters, Julie Pelletiaire of California and Frances (Ralph) Armstrong of Carol Stream; four grandchildren, Chantal Powell, Stephen Pelletiaire, Christopher Armstrong, and Jonathan Armstrong; two great-grandchildren, Hailey Watson and Liam Powell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vita Ciaccio, and his brother Albert Ciaccio.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home in Carol Stream. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
