Stanley S. Stankowski, age 74, a resident of Wheaton for 30 years, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born August 5, 1931 in Chicago.
He served during the Korean War with the Marines. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a longtime member of Wheaton Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Marlys; his four children, Robert, Jennifer, Cheryl (Doug), and Rhonda (Bill); his grandchildren, Dalton, Chelsea, Courtney, Kelly (fiance Ben), Sara (Michael), Billy, and Stephen; his brother, Donald; his sister, Joan; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, from 4-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 10:00 A.M. at Wheaton Wesleyan Church, 1300 S. President St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
