Stanley Bushhouse, age 87, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, died June 14, 2015, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born February 27, 1928 in Kalamazoo, MI to George and Alta Bushhouse.

While enjoying fun in the sun in Grand Haven, MI, he met the love of his life, Alice Cramer from Muskegon. They were united in Holy Matrimony on January 30, 1953. The next year, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and began his lifelong career with AT&T. Through the years, he treasured his family and his faith, fathering three children. He enjoyed many winters in Palm Beach Shores, FL with his family and friends, serving in the soup kitchen as part of the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach. Wherever he was, Stan contributed his leadership skills in civic organizations and his church. He served often as elder in the Wheaton Christian Reformed Church. Bicycling, sailing, fixing things, and construction were his avid avocations. Trusting in His Lord and Savior anchored his life and blessed his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice; his children: Nancy (Jim) De Boer, Sally Bushhouse, and Mark (Patrice) Bushhouse; his grandchildren: Eric (Sarah) De Boer, Maria (Steve) Darrow, Jordan De Boer, Kelsey Bushhouse, Trevor (Melissa) Bushhouse, Jason Bushhouse, Alice Bushhouse; his great-grandchild, Caleb De Boer; his brother, Calvin (Joanne) Bushhouse; and three sisters-in-law, Mary Bushhouse, Ruth Carlson and Phyllis Cramer.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Ouding; his brother, Philip Bushhouse; and his brothers-in-law, Russell Cramer, Richard Ouding and Wesley Carlson.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Christian Reformed Church , 711 E. Harrison St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
