Sophie J. Zurawski, age 95, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022.  She was born December 8, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Charles & Mary Pikul.

A lifelong Chicagoan, Sophie grew up on the south side and went to the movies weekly, collecting depression glass dinnerware premiums.  She moved to the northwest side when she married and started her family.  She worked for Zenith Radio Corporation for 25 years and was a proud member of their Pioneer's Club.  Upon retirement, Sophie moved to DuPage County, residing in Bartlett & Wheaton.  She enjoyed gardening, parakeets, bingo, canasta, Rummikub and jigsaw puzzles.  Most of all, she enjoyed being Busia (Polish for grandmother) and was proud of her grandsons.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Janice) Zurawski; her grandsons Daniel & James Zurawski; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Zurawski; her siblings: Caroline Pikul, Stanley Pikul, Stephanie (the late John) Donatowicz & Josephine (the late Matt) Dyda; and her sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Lillian (the late Pete) Colombo, Stella (the late Bill) Wojcik, Eddie (the late Eleanor) Zurawski, and Harriet (the late Vic) Kaleta.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Friday, December 2, 2022, 9:30 a.m. from Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, to St. Michael Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.
