Sieng Neng, 76, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on February 20, 2025. She was born on November 02, 1948 in Saigon, Vietnam to her mother, Thi Liu, and father, Danh Su. Sieng was also a devoted spouse to Chac Huynh, her pride and joy.

In 1990, post-war-stricken, Sieng and her husband, Chac, emigrated from Vietnam to Chicago, IL, with their daughter, Mary Lord, and son, Eric Hoang, in pursuit of economic opportunities that would empower their children and future grandchildren to thrive and achieve lasting stability.

For 22 years, Sieng committed herself to assembly line operations at Conxall in Villa Park, IL. When her mother, who was still residing in Vietnam, became ill, she supplemented her income by working evenings at Wheaton College's food services for five years to help cover medical expenses. Her colleagues recognized her for her steadfast support, ability to uplift morale, and a natural talent for fostering a diverse immigrant community beyond her Vietnamese peers. Her family also appreciated the delicious leftovers she brought home after each shift, notably the chicken and lamb shawarma.

Sieng dedicated her life to her friends, community, and family, investing wholeheartedly in their well-being. Known as the glue that held her community together through various challenges, she provided food, financial support, and connections to ensure no one felt alone. To her family, she was a profound source of love, comfort, and unwavering support, finding joy in nurturing them unconditionally. She raised each grandchild with equal love and discipline, celebrating their individuality. She even embraced the role of caregiver for her youngest grandchild until she passed away.

Sieng will be remembered for her unique charm, selflessness, and wit, as well as her ability to brighten any room with her fashion and presence. Her family will particularly miss her daily phone calls. Anyone who experienced her love is truly fortunate.

Sieng's greatest joy was indeed her family. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lord; her son, Eric Hoang; her daughter-in-law, Be Tran; her son-in-law, James Lord; her grandchildren, Charlie Dao, Jason Dao, Jimmy Nguyen, Jennifer Lord, and Daniel Hoang; and her sisters, Lam Thi Danh and Hand Thi Danh.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 565 Randy Road, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188, where a service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago, IL.
