Obituary

Shirley E. Moses, age 87, a resident of the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton, IL, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born May 31, 1922 in Coker Creek, TN.

Shirley Etta Moses was a very gentle soul, who loved her family deeply. She was married twice, first to Johnny M. Shaw and then to Wendle T. Moses. Shirley was the mother of eight wonderful children; grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of eight; great-great-grandmother of one; and aunt of many.

For most of her life Shirley was a stay at home Mom. She never, ever missed her favorite Soap Opera "As the World Turns". Shirley loved chocolate candy, but not just any chocolate. It had to be Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. God bless you Mama. You will be in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Debby) Shaw of Tellico Plains, TN, and William Jennings Moses of Chattanooga, TN; her daughters, Veronica (John) Smrt of Darien, IL, and Patricia (Richard) Baraniak of Naperville, IL; eight grandchildren, Vicki (Joe) Brown, Rachel (Mike) Coada, Eric (Sandy) Smrt, Cory Smrt, Breanne Kiddie, Kyle Kiddie, and Nicki Baraniak; eight great-grandchildren, James (Heather) Stockton, Deanna Selke, Treshae Selke, Taylor Smrt, Morgan Smrt, Kevin Smrt, Michaela Coada, and Daymariah Kiddie; one great-great-grandhild, Baleigh Stockton; her brother, Paul (Carol) Taylor; her two sisters, Janice (David) Thomas, and Evelyn (Chris) Runion; three sisters-in-law, Martha, and Bobbie Taylor, and Helen White; and one brother-in-law, Dean Dalton.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Johnny M. Shaw, and Wendle T. Moses; her parents, John D. and Amelia Taylor; her sons, Demarell Shaw, and Worth Raymond "Bar" Shaw; her daughters, Louise Shaw, and Judy Helgerson; her grandchild, Ricky Helgerson; four brothers, James, Les, Raymond, and Charles Taylor; and four sisters, Pauline Taylor, Avis Shaw, Sue Shaw, and Ada Dalton.

Services and interment are private.
