Shirley Johnson Hausske's Obituary
Shirley Johnson Hausske, age 92, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born October 25, 1918 in Chicago, IL.
She was an active member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn, IL where among other things she served as President of the Altar Guild. She also worked in the Community Food Pantry. She was an avid Bridge player and was also well known for her Christmas cookies. She made 3000 Christmas cookies every year for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, George Hausske Sr.; two children, George Hausske Jr. of Battle Lake, MN, and Laurel (Bruce) Armstrong of Crystal Lake, IL; two grandchildren, Erin (Dan) Adkins and Karin (Jeremy) Ladd; three great-grandchildren, Cole and Caitlin Adkins, and Andrew Ladd; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 41 N. Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Interment is private at Eden Memorial Park in Schiller Park, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to the church.
