Shirley Joan Bollow, age 82, a former longtime resident of Winfield, went to be with her Lord Jesus surrounded by her family on Friday, January 22. She was born on February 15, 1933 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Oscar and Ruth Timberg.

She was raised in Lincolnwood, IL and graduated from Niles Township High School in 1950, where she met Robert Hall Bollow, her husband of 52 years. They married on October 8, 1955 and built their first home together in Skokie where they began raising their family of four children. Having moved to Wheaton in 1972 they faithfully worshipped and served at the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church.

She was a longtime beloved employee of Stone's Jewelry in Wheaton and her passion for nutrition was reflected in her Shaklee business.

She enjoyed bowling leagues, playing bridge, Christian Woman's Club and Republican Women's Club. She was deeply invested in her children's lives and serving at their schools. Everyone was welcome in her home as she hosted celebrations, showers, a long standing Bible study, and all felt like family as they walked through her door. She will be remembered by many for her heart as a servant.

She delighted in her grandchildren and was devoted to her family and creating rich traditions.

She is survived by four children, Sherry (Hugh) McGowan of Woodstock, IL, Robert (Ellen) of Wheaton, John (Lori) of Pasadena, CA, Sarah (Gary) Woltjer of Grand Rapids, MI; twelve grandchildren, Jordan, Jesse, Jamison, Jensen, Jeremiah, Samuel, Finley, Cooper, Owen, Emma, Abigail and Ahna; her sister, Marilyn (Ralph) Frank, nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her parents.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 25 from 5:30 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the Compass Church Wheaton, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment is private at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
