Shirley V. Archer, age 96, a resident of Bolingbrook, IL., died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home. She was born November 7, 1920, at home in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Helen Peterson.

Shirley was a high school graduate and loving homemaker. She also served as a dedicated Sunday school teacher, for many years, at Bethel Bible Church in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Later in life, she worked as a support staff member for Peace Memorial Nursing Home in Evergreen Park.

She is survived by her sons Wayne, Gary, and Ken Archer ; 6 loving grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition, Shirley was predeceased in death by her husband, Thomas W. Archer, Sr in 1996. She was also predeceased by her son, Thomas W. Archer, Jr, brother, Arthur Peterson, and sisters Eleanor Brinnehl, and Helen McGuire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Bible Church , 3225 West 96th Street, Evergreen Park, Illinois.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 8:30 – 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Bible Church in Evergreen Park, Illinois. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 10:00 A.M. The interment will be held at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park in Willow Springs, Illinois. Friends should gather at the Archer Ave. entrance around 11:00 A.M.
