Sheena R. Burks, age 37, a resident of Wheaton, IL, left this earth too early on Friday May 29, 2020. She was born December 18, 1982 in Rockford, IL.

Sheena grew up in Rockford and attended Auburn High School. She was a free spirit and loved music, gardens and animals. She was one of the only people we knew who could nurture houseplants and grew many exotic plants in her home. Her love of animals was apparent even at a very young age, as she would often be found with worms in her pockets and the impulse to help every stranded and wounded animal she came in contact with. Sheena had many different pets during her life. Some of her favorites include a lizard, Boa constrictor, tarantulas, numerous dogs, and cats. Her love of animals prompted her to pursue a career working with animals. She worked in multiple Veterinarians' offices and most recently as a dog groomer.  Some would say that she was happiest covered in dog hair and puppy kisses!

She is survived by and will be missed dearly by her supportive partner, Brandon Johnson, her beautiful sons, Aiden Dobbs and Branch Johnson, her loving mother Shari (Santo Scordato) Blackwell, her loving father Bobby (Melissa) Burks, her amazing siblings, Nikki (Roger) Corey, Nathen Burks and Rhiannon Burks, her maternal grandmother, Rose Blackwell and paternal grandfather Louis Burks, as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles, cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and friends, including her 'ride-or-die', Lindsay Crosby.

We love you and will miss you Sheena. Until we meet again, fly free.

Memorial service will be held for Sheena on Saturday June 27th 12:00pm at Anna Page Park (down by the creek). All are welcome
