Sharon Kruse, age 74, a resident of Carol Stream, and formerly a longtime resident of Downers Grove, died Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. She was born November 6, 1940 to John and Yolanda "Celia" Terrando.

Sharon married Bernard Kruse in 1961. They raised their family in Oak Brook and Downers Grove. She retired from Lions Club International in Oak Brook.

She enjoyed gardening and travel. She was a very generous person who gave to numerous charities. She enjoyed gardening and vacationing in Florida, especially the Florida Keys. She loved shopping at QVC.

She is survived by her children, Natalie Sue Holpuch of Carol Stream, Kristin Wiedemann of Pontiac, and John (Darlene) Kruse of Mokena, three grandchildren, Dalton Miller, Jacob Kruse and Tyler Kruse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard on March 8, 2014.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial gifts may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
