Scott
Munsterman
March 19, 1961 – September 30, 2019
Scott Munsterman, age 58, a resident of Oswego, IL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2019, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He was born on March 19, 1961 in Geneva, IL to Arne and Ruth Munsterman.
Scott grew up in Wheaton, IL and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1979. On July 31, 1982, he married Lisa York at the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church where he was an active member. He worked with his father, who owned Wheaton Rental Center, for many years until the business was sold in 1999. In 2001, he purchased First Place Rental in Oswego and has expanded the business to Sandwich, IL as well.
Scott was perfectly suited to his work and he was loved by his customers and his employees. Friends described him as the "most selfless" person who was the first to jump in and tackle a project. He was anxious to serve and was a gifted problem solver. He was a mentor, a giving employer and was continually helping behind the scenes. Scott had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved long bike rides, going to the shooting range, and fireworks. His Christian faith was central to his life and his work, and he used his gifts at church and was a resource for many ministries. Most of all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Munsterman, two children, Jonathan (Corissa) Munsterman of Snohomish, WA and Chelsea Munsterman of Gilbert, AZ, his mother, Ruth Munsterman and two brothers, Bruce (Lynn) Munsterman and Tim (Carol) Munsterman, all of Sugarland, TX and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 2013.
