With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the life he lived, we announce the passing of Scott Charles Howard on October 23, 2026, at the age of 60.

Born on January 10th, 1966, Scott grew into a great man, father and eventually, grandfather. Above all else, he loved his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years Carolyn, beloved children, Patrick, Lauren, and Trevor; his grandson, Lucas, who lit up his world; his parents, Kathryn and Robert; his son-in-law, Khizer, and daughter-in-law, Chelsea; and his mother-in-law, Lenaye Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher, and brother in-law, Barry Spengler. Each of them carried a piece of Scott’s heart, and he carried theirs.

Scott also found pure happiness in sports and music. He was an alumnus of the University of Illinois, and a devoted White Sox and Packers fan. These were among the simple pleasures that brought him alive and gave him so many moments of connection with the people he loved most.

Those who knew Scott will remember a man who was selfless and always put others first. His family was his greatest accomplishment and his greatest gift.

Scott will be profoundly missed and forever held close in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to call him theirs.
