Sarah I. Cleave, age 93, a resident of Wheaton, died Tuesday, November 21. She was born on March 1, 1913 in Wheaton to Richard and Hazel Irving.
She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1930. For many years she worked in the family business, NuWay Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Glen Ellyn. She also worked for the DuPage County Jury Commission from 1971 until 1979.
Sally was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a 70 year member of the Wheaton Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three children, Bruce (Esma) Cleave of California, James (Deborah) Cleave of Winfield, and Gail Cleave of Wheaton, eight grandchildren, Heather, Melisse, Beth, Rachael, Rebekah, Sarah, Robert and Elizabeth, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Richard H. Irving II of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two children in infancy, her parents, and two sisters, Betty Warren and Virginia Haas.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West St., Wheaton. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM in the chapel with the service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church.
