Samuel McBurney, age 35, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died March 5, 2018, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois.  He was born February 5, 1983.

Sam was a great athlete playing baseball, basketball, and soccer in high school. From his earliest days he always loved to read. He especially enjoyed philosophy and loved to engage in discussions about the meaning and purpose of life. He was a master of the English language.  He worked in the restaurant industry as well as construction. Sam was fluent in Spanish.  With a larger than life, charismatic personality, he made many friends along the way.

Preceded in death by his loving mother, the late Gail McBurney.

He is survived by his father, Steven McBurney of Wheaton; His two sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Moore, Stephanie McBurney; his brother Benjamin (Erin) McBurney; His grandparents, Jack and Lorraine Kearns, and Eris Floyd; Nieces and nephews Jackson and Rachel (Moore), Mack, Makayla, and Maddyn (McBurney).

A visitation will be held March 9, 2018 from 10:00 - 12:00  at HFH. A funeral service will be held March 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home.
