Obituary

Samuel A. Mallery Jr age 94, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died peacefully November 15, 2024. He was born February 23, 1930 in Meyersdale, PA to Ruth Meehan Mallery and Samuel Addison Mallery Sr.

Sam Mallery served in the Navy and later studied at the University of Pittsburg graduating with a BBA. He was hired by Sears and retired as an executive with over 35 years of service. He was very active in many organizations within the Wheaton Community and later in his summer community Ludington, MI.  His faith was very important to him. Sam and his wife Naomi became members of their church upon moving to Wheaton. They both served as Deacons, Elders and Stephens Ministry leaders for more than 100 care givers at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton.  Sam was also involved in the Falcon Fan Club, Jaycees and Rotary.  He loved serving, yet found time to cheer on and support his children and grandchildren in all their activities.

He is survived by his children Missy Bansch (Rick), Kim Mallery (Joe Popp), and Shawn Mallery (Kathleen); 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Sam is also survived by three siblings, John Mallery, Jerry Mallery and Patrick Mallery.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Naomi; his son Tad; and his sister Anne Mallery.

A memorial service will be held on a future date after the holidays, at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton. A private family interment has taken place at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
