Dr. Samuel Chacko, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. He was born in Mezhuveli, Kerala, India on August 1, 1942 to the late Rev. C. Chacko and Mrs. Sosamma (Cheriyan) Chacko. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 and settled in Carol Stream, IL over 35 years ago.

He continued his education in the U.S. first at Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL, earning his B.A. in Social Science, cum laude. He was a Phd in Urban Planning and Public Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was the Vice President of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA). He had a career in Social and Human services and was committed to anti-poverty work, locally and globally.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Omana (Molsy); His children Roshen Chacko and Renee Chacko; and his sister Kunjamma Paul residing in Mumbai.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Faithbridge Church, 0S347 Jefferson St, Winfield, IL 60190, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Wayne Township Cemetery in West Chicago, Illinois.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the Bread of Life Food Pantry at FaithBridge Church in Winfield, with comment "for Bread of Life." In lieu of flowers, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. However, flower delivery may be made to the church or Hultgren Funeral Home.
