Samantha Elizabeth Mitchell (née; Lightbourne), aged 32, passed away on December 19th, 2024. Samantha fought her battle with cancer with faith, courage, wisdom, and deep determination. She was a devoted follower of Jesus, a beloved wife, mother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Samantha was born on December 5th in Paget, Bermuda, where she spent her formative years. Samantha often recounted fond memories of her island life, such as cliff jumping at the beach enjoying the best fish sandwiches, riding her 50cc moped, serving in local bible summer camps with her brother and friends, and exploring the world through short term mission trips. With great memories serving in Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Maarten, Belize, and evangelism bootcamp in Florida.

Sam later moved to New York to further her studies and remained in the USA until her death. She attended the Word of Life Bible Institute, prior to attending the Moody Bible Institute where she completed a B.A in Biblical Studies; she later attended National Louis University, where she received her M.A in Applied Behavior Analysis. All while growing her young family. Throughout her career she was known for her hard work, dedication, knowledge, and passion for helping others. She loved every moment of being a working woman up until her family started growing and she became a full-time stay at home mother. Which, of course was her favorite role of all times.

But more than anything, Samantha was a devoted Christ follower. She loved spending time with her children, "framily" (friends who became family) sharing stories, writing, playing games, and watching their favorite TV shows. Samantha was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Samantha is survived by her loving husband, Teyvone ("Tey") Mitchell, her children, Harvey, Layla, Emory, Parents: Edward and Socorro Lightbourne, Brother: Stephen (Anita), In-laws: Jim Mitchell and Nichelle Hutchen, Sister in-laws: Keishawna Trinitty, Raquia, Brother in-law: Domonique Reynolds-Cunningham. Several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. A total of (10) Nieces and Nephews. Lastly, her special and dear best friends/sisters.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024. Visitation at 9:30am-10:30am. Service at 10:30am.
