Ruth L. Wheeler, age 85, died March 17, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL. She was born June 18, 1924 in Austin, MN, graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and lived in Morristown, NJ for 25 years before moving to Wheaton, IL in 1975.

Ruth was active in many organizations. As an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), she served in many roles in the Presbyterian Church in Morristown, NJ, First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, IL, Newton (NJ) Presbytery, and the Presbytery of Chicago. In addition, she enjoyed participating in her church circle, PEO, Boy Scout leadership activities, and several bridge clubs.

Preceded in death by husband George W. Wheeler, parents Franklin and Jessie Liebenstein, sister Audrey Allen, and brother Warren Liebenstein, she is survived by son James, daughter-in-law Ann, and grandsons George, David, and Andrew Wheeler of Lock Haven, PA; daughter Carol Wheeler of Athens, GA; brother Donald and sister-in-law Beverly Liebenstein of St. Paul, MN; sister-in-law Ardis Liebenstein of Dundas, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton, Wheaton, IL.
