Ruth H. Samuelson, age 97, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Johnson Health Care Center at Windsor Park. She was born on February 17, 1916 in Evanston to Sigurd and Hulda Samuelson.

Ruth taught first grade at the Kenilworth School and in Skokie for over 40 years.
Her life revolved around the education and nurturing of young children, both in her career as an early elementary public school teacher and later as governess for several families on the North Shore. Ruth was a devout Christian whose faith was evident in her daily life.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Leonard Phillip and Glenn Waldemar.

Her nieces and nephews survive her: Eric Samuelson, Elizabeth Stiffler, Laurel Deborah Estes, Linda Wyher, Donald Samuelson and William Samuelson  and many grand nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Windsor Park on Saturday, November 23 at 11:00 A.M.. Private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, Illinois.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Winnetka Bible Church or Wheaton College.
