Ruth Katherine (Sturtz) Ruckstaetter, 96, of Carol Stream, IL, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 with her husband by her side. The daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Sturtz, she was born September 15, 1918 in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Concordia she worked as an RN at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL. On September 1, 1940 she married George Ruckstaetter and lived in Portage, Richland and Delton, MI. She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge with her friends, gardening, baking, and caring for her family. Surviving are her husband of 74 years, George Ruckstaetter; two sons, Thomas (Nancy) Ruckstaetter of Richland, MI, James (Patricia) Ruckstaetter of Deerfield Beach, FL; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
