Ruth Wickboldt
Mcdonald
February 1, 1929 – July 5, 2021
Ruth Wickboldt McDonald, age 92.
Ruth was born in Elgin, Illinois, on February 1, 1929, to Marius and Lena Svendsen. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church and grade school and received her high school diploma from Elgin High School. She married William Wickboldt on May 29, 1948, moved to Chicago, Illinois, and raised four children. Ruth also received an Associates Degree in Dental Assisting, an accomplishment that was very important to her. She worked in the dental field for many years and was a dedicated and beloved employee. After the death of William in 1996, Ruth was blessed with her marriage to Roger McDonald of Naperville, Illinois, on October 19, 2002, and enjoyed her new home and life there.
Ruth loved and honored the Lord Jesus faithfully, serving family, friends, church and community. She was full of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Ruth is survived by her husband of 18 years, Roger McDonald; children Wayne (Kathy) Wickboldt; Carol (Bill) Rode; Glenn (Laurie) Wickboldt and Laurie (Howard) Costley; her sisters Lorene Moulton and Elinor Baese; daughters through marriage Jane (Dale) Poynter and Kathy (Ed) Meadors; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wickboldt; brothers Morrie and Philip Svendsen, infant granddaughter, Kristin Wickboldt, and great granddaughter, Anna Trotter.
